Georgetown

They are getting bigger and have the conveniences of a big town but they manage to keep that small town feel.

Welcome to Georgetown

Something to understand about Texas is just how big it is and how far away everything is from each other.

Austin and Georgetown are two totally different places. Georgetown is about 30 minutes north of Austin along the I-35 corridor. Outside of peak hours, it's a quick and easy drive. Both have outdoorsy activities and lifestyle but getting to more of the fun stuff is far easier in Georgetown. Georgetown has the San Gabriel river and Berry Springs Park. There's a great trail over 20 miles and it goes out to the lake. Oh and Georgetown has a lake! So you don’t have to drive over an hour across Austin to get to that lake. There's a couple trails you will love to hike out by the lake and they are very dog friendly there.

If you are visiting, bring some stretchy pants because there are soooo many amazing food places there. They've done a pretty good job of avoiding the big chains and have more locally owned restaurants. Thirsty Longhorn is in the park and a great little sports bar. For the best fish and chips you’ll head to the Grumpy George British Pub. For the best grilled chicken salad you’ll ever eat, head over to Wildfire. Be sure to stop by Mikey V’s Taco Shop. I mean seriously, every single restaurant they have on the square is phenomenal.

iving in Georgetown is like living in a hallmark movie. They are getting bigger and have the conveniences of a big town but they manage to keep that small town feel.
